About this race
Bertha Park Trail Run - Summer is a 10km off-road event held on the green space next to the visitor car park at Bertha Park on the edge of Perth. The summer edition follows a reverse route compared to other editions in the series, heading out towards Almondbank first before looping back around Bertha Loch to the finish. Terrain is mixed trail, with technical sections and areas that can be muddy underfoot, taking in woodland paths alongside the loch and gentle undulations rather than sustained climbs. The course is marked and marshalled throughout, suitable for experienced trail runners as well as those newer to off-road racing. Much of the route stays close to the water, with wooded sections offering shade and changes of scenery around the loop. Runners finish back at the start area near Springfield Homes, with registration based at a nearby community hub.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
