Beast of Bryn 6.5mile

The Beast of Bryn 6.5 mile starts at Bryn Rugby & Social Club in Bryn, near Port Talbot, following a shorter loop of the same mountains of Afan Forest Park used by the 10.5 mile race. The route climbs a total of around 315 metres over its distance, staying entirely within the forest park before returning to Bryn on a downhill run in to the finish. The terrain is genuinely off-road and hilly, taking in forest trail, open hillside and mountain track with views across the Afan Valley throughout. A single water station supports runners along the way, and the course is fully marked and marshalled, with medical cover provided by the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. It's a great introduction to the tougher long-course distance, with every finisher receiving a bespoke medal and t-shirt back at the rugby club.
