About this race
The Rugged Radnage 10K starts and finishes next to Radnage Village Hall on Green Lane, in the Chiltern Hills near High Wycombe. The course follows the same route as the shorter 5K option for the first two kilometres, on a mix of road, trail and footpath through fields on the edge of the village, before turning left to head up into Crowell Wood. At the four-kilometre mark there is a steep, often muddy climb through the trees, followed by a fast descent back down to rejoin the 5K route for the final three kilometres to the finish. The terrain throughout is genuinely mixed, with real ascents and descents rather than a flat profile, making sturdy trail shoes a sensible choice. Organised by parents of Radnage CofE Primary School as one of its biggest annual fundraisers, the event finishes with a prize giving and a fun run for children.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
