About this race
The Fleetwood Half Marathon starts behind the registration area near Rossall Point and Beach Road Car Park, running two laps of Fleetwood's Outer Promenade and Esplanade on the Lancashire coast. The course stays close to the sea throughout, with views out over Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea as runners pass the town's nautical landmarks along the front. The route is entirely on tarmac promenade and coastal road, and is certified accurately measured, with the flat, two-lap format making it one of the fastest half marathon courses in the North West. Water stations are positioned at intervals along the route, with medical support on hand throughout. Organised by Fylde Coast Runners, the race welcomes all abilities in a friendly, low-key atmosphere, with finishers receiving a nautical-themed medal and prizes awarded across age and gender categories back at the seafront finish.
