Midwinter Mortimer Trail Run 28k

The Midwinter Mortimer Trail Croft Half is a point-to-point trail run from the Riverside Inn at Aymestrey to Kington, following the second half of the Mortimer Trail ultra route through the Marches. From Aymestrey the route heads south-west through woodland and over the first of a series of hills, passing Croft Ambrey hill fort. It then continues west over further hills and across the valley of the River Arrow, before passing Wapley hill fort and dropping to the finish in Kington. The route is a mix of trail, field and road, with forests, limestone tops and pastures, and the profile is hilly, with several strenuous climbs and descents. The event is self-navigated, so runners are expected to follow the route on their own, with parking recommended in Kington.
