About this race
Ramsbury Gold 10k starts and finishes at Ramsbury Brewery on the edge of Aldbourne in rural Wiltshire, sending runners out onto the surrounding Ramsbury Estate. The course is largely off-road, taking in a mix of estate trails, woodland tracks and footpaths as it winds through the rolling countryside between Aldbourne and Ramsbury, with only a small proportion of the distance on tarmac lanes. Underfoot conditions are multi-terrain, ranging from firm farm tracks to woodland paths that can be uneven in places, and the route gains a modest amount of elevation as it climbs and descends through fields and copses, giving an undulating rather than flat profile. The event has a relaxed, brewery-based atmosphere, with entrants able to bring dogs on the canicross-friendly course. Finishers return to the brewery site for refreshments, making the setting as much a feature of the day as the running itself.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
