About this race
The Bath Half Marathon is a road race through the World Heritage city of Bath, run on a largely flat course with the start and finish close together on the north-western side of the city centre. From the start the route heads west along the River Avon valley through the Lower Weston and Locksbrook areas towards Newbridge, then turns and doubles back on the opposite side of the river, passing Newton Road and Twerton on the way back towards the city. Runners return along the southern side of the valley into the centre, then head north-east through Bathwick before looping back through the city for the finish. The surface is entirely paved, the profile is flat for most of the distance, and a short rise comes in the closing stages. Organised by London Marathon Events, the race is known for its traffic-free streets and live bands.
