About this race
The Colchester Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile road race that starts and finishes at the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester, Essex. The course is a single lap on roads, taking runners through the city centre and past some of Colchester's best-known landmarks before heading out onto country lanes around the city. The first seven miles are run under a rolling road closure, after which the route moves onto quieter country roads, and the final stretch has a partial road closure. The mix of urban streets and rural lanes gives the race a varied character. The event is associated with The Robin Cancer Trust, and the stadium start and finish gives runners a single central base for the day. Roads are a mix of closed and partially closed sections, and runners finish back at the stadium where the race began.
