Roly's Run 40mile

Roly's Run 40 miles starts and finishes at Swanmore Village Hall in Hampshire at 8am and builds on the shorter loops through Beacon Hill, Exton and Meonstoke. Runners continue to Winchester Hill, then head east on the South Downs Way to the Sustainability Centre checkpoint before completing a clockwise loop taking in East Meon, Ramsdean and Butser Hill, returning to the Sustainability Centre. The route comes back via the old railway line through Droxford. Nine checkpoints support the course and a 10 hour cut-off applies. Roughly 80 percent of the route is trail, with chalk paths, loose stones, tree roots and steep descents, and the profile is hilly with significant climbing. Conditions can become challenging underfoot in wet weather. The course is marked and chip timed, GPX files are provided, and entrants must be aged 20 or over.
