About this race

Roly's Run 21.5 miles starts and finishes at Swanmore Village Hall in Hampshire and follows the same clockwise loop as the 15.5 mile route through Beacon Hill, Exton and Meonstoke, before extending up to the top of Winchester Hill. From there runners return the same way, staying on the South Downs Way until the old railway line, then following the railway line back to Meonstoke and onward to Swanmore. Five checkpoints, including one at Winchester Hill, support the route. Around 80 percent of the course is trail, with chalk paths, loose stones, tree roots and steep descents, and the profile is hilly, with the extra climb to Winchester Hill making it noticeably tougher than the shorter distance. Conditions can be tricky underfoot in wet weather. Runners may start within a morning window, the course is marked and chip timed, and GPX files are provided.
