Winter X 73k

The Winter X 73k covers all four out-and-back legs of the Winter X course from The Meon Hall in Meonstoke, Hampshire. The North and South legs follow the flat old railway line, north to West Meon and south to Wickham, each returning to the Meon Hall. The East and West legs climb onto the South Downs Way, running to the Sustainability Centre near East Meon in the east and via Beacon Hill to Holden Farm in the west. Checkpoints are at the Meon Hall, Holden Farm, the Sustainability Centre and Wickham. The surface is a mix of well-trodden public trail, old railway line and short road sections, and the profile alternates flat railway sections with long climbs and descents on the downs. The course is marked, GPX files are provided, and the 73k starts at 8:00 AM.
